Loved today’s rerun from Lynn Johnston’s classic comic strip “For Better or Worse” as it reflects common feelings among young creatives. As one whose professional writing career started in journalism, I can counter that it was the best training for all writing. But I gotta admit, over the years, especially when freelancing fulltime, I would take less-than-desirable writing gigs. They paid the bills and at least I was getting paid to write. Every experience is a learning experience for a writer.
